Krafton officially announces BGMI Pro Series 2023 (BMPS 2023)

Following the conclusion of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023, Krafton is set to host its second-largest tournament in India after the unban in the country, the BMPS 2023. Following the recent leak of the poster, Krafton has officially confirmed the BGMI Pro Series (BMPS) 2023. Finally, the highly anticipated announcement is here. Krafton has officially announced the BGMI Pro Series 2023 Aka BMPS 2023. In a social media post, Krafton said that BMPS 2023 is around the corner and to get ready to witness India’s top pro teams.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series, aka BMPS, is a professional league of the BGMI where professional teams from the Indian gaming industry compete for a massive prize pool. The top-performing teams from recent tournaments and fan favorites teams can get invitations to the second season of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series.

Following the conclusion of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023, Krafton is set to host its second-largest tournament in India after the unban in the country, the BMPS 2023. Just a month after the conclusion of BGIS 2023 on October 15, Krafton swiftly announced the upcoming BMPS 2023 today, November 17.

However, there is no clarity on the date or the format of the tournament. Whether the entire tournament will be invitational or open for all. In the inaugural season of the BMPS, the open qualifiers were held before the BMPS in the form of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Open Challenge 2022.

This open-for-all tournament allowed teams to qualify through online qualifiers, with each round narrowing down the pool of teams. Ultimately, the top 32 teams from the open qualifiers competed against the invited 32 teams, and 24 teams advanced to BMPS Season 1, which was won by Team Soul, with Goblin becoming the MVP.

Krafton, in their latest Instagram post, announced Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023. The event is set to take place again, featuring prominent esports organizations from across the country.

The first season featured a prize pool of Rs 2 crore with the winners, Team SouL, taking home Rs 75 lakh with OREsportsin, Enigma Gaming and Global Esports finishing second, third and fourth respectively.

This year’s tournament will be the second season for BMPS. The details such as teams participating, format, grand finals venue and the prize pool are expected to be revealed soon.

“Get ready to witness gaming history! The BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA PRO SERIES 2023 is just around the corner, and our top pro teams are locked and loaded for battle. Stay tuned for some gaming action! It’s time to game for glory like never before,” the company said in its official post.

Last month, Krafton concluded Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 also featuring a prize pool of Rs 2 crore with Gladiators Esports being crowned as the champions.

Esports in India has been seeing a lot of action since the last few months with several organizers hosting multiple events featuring hundreds of players from across the country.

The video game industry, as a whole, is experiencing a huge boost as many investors including Krafton have announced investment plans for gaming startups and developers to bring gaming ideas to life.

With more startups emerging, the AVGC sector is also expected to receive a huge boost along with the employment scene which would be brimming with new roles and opportunities for a variety of talent.
